Key duties involved:

-  Developed statistical models of a global robust sales forecast, creating and delivering consensus of the Bradken’s worldwide demand and supply plan for different business units.
-  Developed  the appropriate statistical methods to produce an accurate forecast, using the forecasting systems and analytical tools.
-  Designed the consensus driven forecast process and approach, determining the external insights required and outlining the methods by which forecasting will be undertaken globally and regionally.
-  Delivered a consensus-driven forecast for a dedicated subset of clients, customers, products, and markets over the mid to long term.
-  Captured abnormal demand events and identify and address a gap in forecast error, bias, and volatility. Consider product life cycle, interfacing closely with the product development team, on new product introductions and product end-of-life.
-  Made recommendations on improvements to planning, forecasting systems and tools. Analysed forecasts, reviewed sales and customer plans and determined a statistical demand plan.

ACHIEVEMENTS
-  Developed a long-term demand and supply plan enabling global manufactures and worldwide logistics to define an optimal supply chain strategy and a master production schedule through the global network used to deliver products and services from raw materials to end customers through an engineered flow of information, physical goods, and cash.
This project included the implementation of system dynamics models including stochastic safety stocks, reorder points, inventory coverage, and the development of a stock allocation model to maximise margin profits in business units.

Global Demand Planner

Engaged to analyse existing supply chain operations and provide strategic recommendations to optimise customers’ network strategy, reduce cost to service and reduce risk through the supply chain network optimisation. The scope of this role encompassed:

-  Collaborated with customers to evaluate demand and supply drivers calculating future capabilities, plant capacities, warehouse size, resource-hours, and cost to service ensuring optimum manufacturing and logistics processes.
-  Modelled  master data deploying analytical tools assessing supply chain strategy process to identify supply chain network opportunities that maximise revenues.
-  Assessed supply chain planning network process to optimise operational and financial performance, identify supply risks and constraints, and drive optimum solutions.
-  Designed optimum solutions to assess operational warehouse processes, layouts for efficient space utilisation,  constrained resources, optimise WIP, and accelerate throughput to reduce lead times and improve cost to service.
-  Developed mathematical optimisation models to determine the location of plants, warehouses, distribution centres, transport networks, and the allocation of resources throughout the global supply chain network to maximise revenues.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Developed the supply chain optimised network for a manufacturing company, which determined the location and capabilities of plants, warehouses and distribution centres aiming to reduce cost to service and risk through the optimisation location selection. This project included business case scenarios, cost-benefit of multiple alternative, risk assessment for all sites.

Supply Chain Consultant Manager

Optimised and streamlined the organisational supply chain and implement demand and supply planning strategies to elevate operational productivity, maximise profitability and reduce risk through the optimisation of international logistics networks. Key duties involved:

-  Defined appropriate inventory levels, prepare and analyse slow-moving and obsolete item list for management team review, follow up the action plan and reduce ageing stock with targeted low level.
-  Monitored the product lifecycle to ensure availability of products and control the withdrawal of discontinued products to mitigate scrap risk.
-  Reviewed historical sales trends, researched demand drivers, prepared forecast data, developed statistical forecast models, evaluated forecast results and created demand plans. Reviewed stock movement in retail stores and developed stock allocation strategies per channel to ensure all stores follow the retail inventory management policy of the company.

Developed a long term demand and supply plan in Excel to be executed dynamically by Supply Planners, enabling them to define an optimal demand plan strategy using supply chain analytical tools including safety stock, reorder points, inventory coverage, and developed a stock allocation model to maximise margin profits in all channels including the company’s retail stores.

Demand and Supply Planning - IBP

Engaged to analyse existing supply chain operations and provide strategic recommendations to elevate operational productivity, maximise profitability and reduce risk through the optimisation of the entire supply chain. The scope of this role encompassed:
-  Developed strategic Production Master Plan recommendations by modelling the operation through linear programming to identify bottlenecks and constrained resources, optimise WIP, and accelerate throughput.
-  Assessed operational processes by modelling the supply chain network and applying LEAN Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques to reduce lead times and improve OTIF.
-  Coached the Supply chain team in the implementation of IBP (Integration Business Planning) to identify operational resource requirements and possible risks.
-  Trained the Supply Chain Team in the use of problem-solving tools, methods and techniques, including LEAN Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Operation Research and Theory of Constraints.

Led end-to-end operational planning processes including supply, inventory and distribution management to supply sufficient product to meet patient needs whilst minimising inventory and cost to service. Key tasks in this role included:
-  Managed Demand Planning Processes, systems and continuous improvement initiatives. Mitigated SCM issues by organising demand forecast received from vendors and customers and collaborating with relevant stakeholders to resolve supply chain management issues.
-  Drove cross-functional activities and coordinated inputs from sales, marketing, customer service, quality, regulatory affairs and finance to efficiently manage inventory and optimise service levels.
-  Led the integral control of the demand planning and distribution process and applied optimisation models to achieve the lowest operating cost.
-  Developed short and longer-term demand forecasts to assist senior leaders to develop of business and sales planning.
-  Defined the demand replenishment plan and vendor supply agreement and partnered with key suppliers to increase demand plan accuracy, reduce lead time and meet customer service targets.
ACHIEVEMENTS
-  Boosted forecast accuracy, reduced annual inventory costs by 10% and increased service levels by 10% by developing a customer stratification matrix based on four-dimensional pillars: sales volume, gross margin, cost to serve and loyalty. Leveraged this matrix to drive successful Supply Chain improvement initiatives and set service policies in alignment with customer objectives.
-  Delivered fully automated and standardised SAP order to Cash and Procurement to Payment processes and reduced Cost to Service by 5%. Led the implementation of the SAP Sales and Distribution process module and integrated the WMS and  TMS with the outsourcing manufacturer’s and customers’ EDI systems. Mapped the process of order to Cash and Procurement to Payment.

Suppy Chain Manager

Led the analysis, design and implementation of continuous improvement projects and initiatives to enhance the overall Supply Chain. Streamlined logistics operations through the use of engineering tools (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, TOC, Linear Programming, Optimisation of Distribution Networks, TMS and WMS) to deliver efficiencies in time, cost and quality across all products and services. Key activities in this role incorporated:

-  Enhanced customer service throughout the value chain by developing engineering projects that involved the optimisation of resources and customer satisfaction at the national level.
-  Performed diagnostics of processes, technologies, information systems, and logistics infrastructure to establish optimal logistic processes.
-  Evaluated logistic operators and manage negotiations to develop a portfolio of high quality, cost-effective goods and services logistics options.
-  Developed positive cross-functional working relationships with Corporate Logistics, 3PL’s, IT, and other critical functions to improve supply chain performance.
-  Led the implementation SAP and its integration with other interfaces including Warehouse Management System and Transportation Management System.

ACHIEVEMENTS
-  Reduced annual operational costs by 10% by implementing a Service Operations Centre to integrate end to end supply chain processes. By controlling and monitoring different processes and agreements with vendors, in-house manufacturing, distribution, and last mile deliver, elevated the performance of transport operations and optimised the use of resources.
-  Decreased annual operational costs by 5% and increased service levels by 20% by designing and deploying a highly effective Transportation Management System, employing technological tools to integrate the supply chain process, subsequently receiving the Corona Innovation Prize in 2014.

Optimised and streamlined the organisational supply chain, employing in-house resources and logistics suppliers to optimise business performance and enable the successful delivery of engineering and infrastructure projects. Key tasks in this role incorporated:
-  Enhanced the logistics network by integrating planning processes according to projected demand, ensuring the ongoing availability of products and raw materials.
-  Drove the continuous improvement of production planning and S&OP processes and ensured business adherence to logistics management and supply network policies.
-  Scheduled resources and coordinated daily schedules of deliveries.
-  Analysed monthly production plan against target volume, capacity and resources.
-  Coordinated manufacturing activities and reviewed and analysed monthly production plan against target volumes.

ACHIEVEMENTS

-  Increased annual margin profits by 9% and service levels by 95% by employing LEAN Six Sigma to create and execute an Engineering Improvement Operations Plan, which, in conjunction with the Optimising Distribution Network Model, improved the process of distribution and enabled the reallocation of resources to plants with high profitability, and the elimination of assets with low profit margins.
