In this executive team role, I manage numerous teams: product, student success, job placement, and ops/facilities. I am also the primary POC with legal and student financing partners, including managing our deferred payment options (outcomes loans, Income Share Agreements/ISAs)

Senior Vice President Product & Operations

Kenzie Academy is a 6-month to 2-year tech apprenticeship school, pioneering a new model in education; developing future technology leaders with the skills, passion and purpose to meet the needs of employers and closing the talent gap. We’re focused on empowering individuals to achieve extraordinary outcomes, providing them with access to the skills and opportunities to build their future in tech. 

The product team at Kenzie is a unique one. I manage a team of developers and UX designers, plus our apprentices (graduates of our program looking to sharpen their skills before they get full-time tech jobs). We support our marketing, enrollment, operations, job placement, and instructional teams, building tools and learning experiences to make both our company and students successful. 

I interact frequently with everyone from our CEO to our most junior of apprentices, which means I'm moving constantly between mentoring and being mentored, and balancing forward-thinking roadmaps and immediate needs.  Whatever it takes to create the impact we feel in our DNA at Kenzie.

Vice President Product

IDEO U is an online school where leaders and teams can unlock their potential and build the creative confidence required to tackle the wicked problems of today and tomorrow. The courses place a heavy emphasis on design thinking, collaborative learning, community feedback, and iteration.

- Scaled product catalog (both number of SKUs and available cohorts), leading to 100% YoY customer and revenue growth for three straight years.  
- Formed and grew highly collaborative product team to support the product offering as it scaled. 
- Lead the team creating and running our online (desktop + mobile) learning experience, including managing the community and customer support teams. Courses have a 50%+ completion rate, well above the industry average.
- Led revisions to product experience that improved our average NPS from 15 to 40.  
- Manage relationship with our learning management system (LMS, LXP) provider (NovoEd), including helping guide product roadmap
- Assess and report to executive team on course performance on KPIs/OKRs (key metrics include NPS and Kirkpatrick data)
- Prioritize, build, and test revisions to courses to meet release tight deadlines and budgets
- Define and manage roadmap for live courses team
- Teaching Assistant for Designing a Business course, which provides teaching experience as well direct learner interaction

Oasis Learning was a SaaS curriculum and learning management platform used by universities and corporate learning and development teams to deliver competency-based, self-paced online learning. The Oasis Platform delivered curriculum aligned to the outcomes valued by employers, with the flexibility required by working adult students. 

As a Product Consultant, I helped the company: 
- Define company and product strategy
- Conduct competitive analysis
- Prepare and deliver investor and partner presentations
- Manage first customer requirements and schedule

Product Consultant

A social, for-profit venture whose mission is to ensure that a quality higher education is available to everyone through a self-paced, low-cost model similar to Western Governor's University. 

- Managed product team building UniversityNow's platform, including a pioneering, best-in-class Competency-Based Education (CBE) learning management system (LX/LMS), content managment system (CMS), student management (SIS), instructional content CMS, financial aid systems, faculty course management.  Platform was sold to Penn Foster in 2015. 
- General responsibility for both strategic roadmap and day-to-day management (Agile sprints)
- Balanced needs of a highly disparate stakeholders (students, course developers, faculty, administrators, finance, and student services) into an integrated development process
- Managed development team (10+ people) developing course, staff, and student toolsets
- Worked with executives to develop product strategy based on vision, priorities, and KPIs
- Revamped onboarding experience for new students, leading to increased engagement and retention
- Transformed development team to agile/lean development methodology
- Implemented metrics package (Mixpanel) to drive data-driven decisionmaking

UniversityNow, Inc.

Director of Product Management

- Cofounded company and raised $1 million in startup capital
- Conceived, specified, and led development of entire <a href="http://GameCrush.com">GameCrush.com</a> website and supporting operational systems  
- Built and led development team for entirety of website operations, including developers, UX designers, QA, SEO, and customer support
- Owned product roadmap and lifecycle
- Specified and managed data analytics. Analyzed and reported on data findings to exec team and investors
- Surveyed and conducted usability testing with users, including A/B testing. 
- User- and data-driven site improvements included increasing registration rate on home page by 400%, paid conversion rate by 200%, and site engagement by 300% 
- Designed administrative functions package to streamline operations
- Managed community and customer support teams (~100,000 users)

GameCrush

Cofounder & Head of Product

- Managed roadmap and development for both sites (each has more than 1 million daily unique visitors and 14 million monthly uniques). Products managed drove $50 million in annual revenue.  Teams managed varied in size from 5 people to 50 
- Managed specifications for GameSpot mobile app
- Conceived and managed development of site franchise “All Time Greatest,” an annual event that drove $1 million in revenue
- Designed and managed development of site franchise “GameFAQs Answers,” which generated more than 12 million page views per month
