Devin Sinclair, a dynamic leader and growth-focused tech business operator, has recently joined Sproutl as their COO. The curated online gardening marketplace aims to demystify and democratize gardening, bringing it to a whole new audience and driving digital growth for partner garden centers and nurseries. Sproutl raised a $9m seed round in 2021 led by Index Ventures, supported by Ada Ventures and a stellar group of angel investors.

Before joining Sproutl, Devin was the CEO of South Africa's leading online food delivery business, Mr D Food, a subsidiary of takealot.com and global internet group, Naspers. In this role, he transformed a decades-old analogue food delivery business into a world-class, mobile-focused, online food delivery marketplace platform. He scaled the business by 40x in four years and achieved a market leadership position - ahead of UberEats. Devin expanded Mr D Food across more than 100 regions in South Africa, partnering with over 8,000 restaurants, more than 10,000 drivers, and growing the Mr D Food app to the #1 ranked Food and Drink app in the country with over 1.5 million monthly active users.

Devin's deep understanding of product and consumer technology, ability to execute on strategies, enthusiasm for leading people, and broad commercial experience are complemented by a foundation of academic excellence and international expertise. His previous experience includes direct-to-consumer e-commerce, financial services, and an entrepreneurial venture. Devin holds an MBA from the University of Cambridge, Judge Business School, and is a Chartered Accountant with a B.Com and PGDA from the University of Cape Town.
