Darryl Chiang
Darryl Chiang is a highly experienced legal director at Google, with a background in intellectual property licensing, marketing, and partnership agreements. He currently manages five commercial transactions lawyers and a contracts manager, leading Google's legal department to success. Chiang graduated from Princeton University with an A.B. in History/East Asian Studies, later studying Law at Harvard Law School. Chiang co-wrote the 2020 Google Terms of Service, which covers over 70 different Google products and services.
Before working at Google, Chiang worked senior corporate counsel at Hitachi America, Ltd., Associate General Counsel at Bio-Rad Laboratories, as an associate at Latham & Watkins, and as a Judicial Law Clerk at U.S. District Court, Southern District of California. He was once a legal assistant at Huang & Partners.
Chiang co-leads the legal department at Google's Forms & Drafting Team, working on drafting and designing Google's global contract templates with a focus on training lawyers and businesspersons worldwide on contract negotiation strategies.
