Cynthia Chin
Head of Conservation, Sarawak Conservation Programme at WWF-Malaysia
Cynthia Chin, a Malaysian conservationist, has an impressive background in environmental science and conservation biology. She holds a Master of Science degree in Conservation Biology from the Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, and a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Environmental Science from Murdoch University.
Cynthia has worked at several reputable organizations including WWF-Malaysia, where she holds the position of Senior Project Manager for the Sarawak Conservation Programme under the International Climate Initiative. In this role, she leads a team of conservationists in developing and implementing efforts towards climate change mitigation and adaptation, and supports the sustainable management of natural resources. Prior to this, she served as Manager for Community Engagement & Education, Senior Programme Officer for High Conservation Value Forest, and Freelance writer and editor.
With years of experience, Cynthia has developed expertise in community engagement, stakeholder communication, conservation education, and environmental policy. Her passion for conservation and interest in sustainable natural resource management are evident, and she continues to make incredible strides in the industry.
