Curtis MacDonald is a venture capitalist with a passion for identifying and supporting the brilliant entrepreneurs of tomorrow. He holds MS and BS degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Engineering, respectively, from Lehigh University, as well as studied Tronc Commun (Informatique) at the University of Technology of Compiegne.

MacDonald is currently the Founding Partner of ifMagic Ventures, where he continues to invest in innovative startups that share his vision of pioneering, technological progress. Prior to starting his own venture capital firm, he was a Senior Investment Manager and Venture Partner at High Tech Gruenderfonds (HTGF), one of the world’s most active seed-stage funds, where he managed an impressive portfolio of deep-tech startups covering AI, crypto, robots, and enterprise software, which yielded some of the fund’s largest recent exits.

Before delving into the world of venture capital, MacDonald co-founded hField Technologies, Inc., where he developed and patented a new type of microwave antenna that led to the creation of long-range WiFi communication devices. His experience as an entrepreneur and investor has allowed him to become part of the Board of several startups, including Beyond Imagination, Particle.One, Verbz.ai, ZaiNar, Inc., Hypersonix Inc., Mira, Cocoon Health, Pylba Inc., Itembase, ezeep, Autoloader GmbH, tiramizoo GmbH, trustedSafe GmbH, eyefactive GmbH, Stocard - Your Mobile Wallet, ML-C MobileLocation-Company GmbH, and Lumatix.

In his free time, Curtis enjoys golfing with friends and colleagues, as well as working on his various programming and hardware projects.
