Curt Spalding

Curt Spalding is a Senior Consultant at GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc., where he focuses on environmental protection, resiliency, and sustainability. He has an extensive background in environmental advocacy and public service, notably serving as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) New England Regional Administrator during the Obama Administration. In this role, he was instrumental in developing restoration plans for significant water bodies in New England, including Lake Champlain and Narragansett Bay.12

Spalding has also held leadership positions, such as the Executive Director of Save the Bay, an environmental advocacy organization, for 18 years. Additionally, he has contributed to academia as a Professor of the Practice at the Institute at Brown University for Environment and Society, where he focused on urban resilience and facilitated the creation of the Providence Resilience Partnership.12

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Hobart College and a Master of Public Administration from the University at Albany, SUNY - Rockefeller College.1 In his current role at GZA, he advises on climate change and sustainability initiatives, leveraging his extensive experience in both public and private sectors to address complex environmental challenges.12
