Curt Hanson

Curt Hanson is an accomplished pathologist with a remarkable background in medicine, pathology, and laboratory management. He earned his bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Mathematics from Nebraska Wesleyan University, then proceeded to complete his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and a Fellowship in Hematopathology at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.

Dr. Hanson has assumed various leadership positions over the years, including serving as Executive Vice-President of Mayo Clinic Laboratories and Chief Medical Officer at Mayo Medical Laboratories. He also worked as a Professor of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic and served as Laboratory Director of Cytogenetics. Additionally, he chaired the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology and the Division of Hematopathology at Mayo Clinic.

Formerly, Dr. Hanson chaired the Clinical Pathology Department of Pathology at the University of Michigan. He has authored numerous articles and book chapters on laboratory medicine, pathology, and hematology, making him an expert in these fields.
