Scott Ruddick is a highly experienced security specialist with over 15 years of operational experience across four continents. Currently, he serves as the Director of Global Security at MEDA, a bi-national aid and development NGO, where he focuses on risk management in complex and non-permissive environments. He has a unique global perspective and strong cross-cultural management acumen, which he uses to design and implement well-honed security and crisis management solutions. His expertise includes management of security systems to protect staff and assets, continuity/disaster recovery planning, protection of at-risk personnel, and physical security.
Ruddick's extensive knowledge of medical programming for remote environments is demonstrated by his certification as a remote EMT, with additional qualifications in trauma and austere critical care, remote medical life support, tropical disease, and pharmacology. He is also knowledgeable in cyber security, drawing upon previous experience as an IT director and specialized training in IT security. His expertise extends to instructional design and training, as well as effective case management of incident investigations.
Ruddick's professional accreditations include Certified Security Management Professional (CSMP) from the International Security Management Institute, National Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) from the National Registrar of EMTs, Remote Emergency Medical Technician (REMT) from Remote Medical International, and Chartered Security Professional (CSyP) from the Registrar of Chartered Security Professionals.
Ruddick holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resources Management from Royal Roads University, as well as a diploma in Law Enforcement (Honours) and a graduate certificate in Investigative Sciences and Police Studies (High Honours) from Seneca College.
