    Cristina Tardáguila is a renowned journalist and media entrepreneur with a career spanning back to 2002, covering diverse topics like arts, politics, and social issues for major Brazilian media outlets.

    In 2014, she pioneered Brazil's first fact-checking website, "Preto no Branco," and subsequently founded Agência Lupa, a groundbreaking newswire service providing fact-checked articles in Portuguese.

    As the founder and CEO of Lupa until May 2019, Cristina oversaw a team of 15 people delivering verified content to national newspapers, radios, and magazines, while also establishing LupaEducação for educational initiatives.

    Transitioning to the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) in 2019, Cristina served as the first Associate Director. She spearheaded initiatives like the #CoronaVirusFacts Alliance, coordinating 99 fact-checking organizations to combat COVID-19 hoaxes.
