    Cristian van Eijk is an American-Dutch international lawyer and PhD scholar specializing in space law and related fields.12 He is currently pursuing a PhD at Newcastle University as a Northern Bridge PhD Scholar.1 Van Eijk holds an LLM in Public International Law and a BA (cum laude) in International Justice from the University of Leiden, as well as a BA in Law from the University of Cambridge.1

    As a member of the International Astronomical Union (IAU), van Eijk serves on the International Law Working Group of the IAU's Dark and Quiet Skies Conference.1 This group advises the UN Committee on the Peaceful Use of Outer Space on maintaining night skies for humanity.1
