Craig Cordola

Craig Cordola is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Ascension, a major healthcare organization in the United States. He has been with Ascension since September 2017, initially serving as the President and Chief Executive Officer for Ascension Texas before transitioning to his current role. In his capacity as COO, Cordola oversees a wide range of operations, including healthcare services across 19 states and Washington, D.C., as well as Ascension's national Ambulatory Surgery and Imaging divisions. He is also responsible for various subsidiaries, such as Medxcel Facilities Management and The Resource Group, which focuses on group purchasing.14

Before joining Ascension, Cordola held several leadership positions at the Memorial Hermann Health System in Texas, including Senior Vice President and President of the Central/West Region. His experience also includes roles at Texas Children's Hospital, where he served as Director of Operations.234

Cordola is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and is pursuing a Doctorate in Leadership and Learning Organizations at Vanderbilt University. He holds dual Master's degrees in Healthcare Administration and Business Administration from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin.124

Recently, it was announced that Cordola will transition to a new role as a member of the Management Board at Fresenius Medical Care, starting in January 2024, where he will lead the Care Delivery segment.4
