Courtney Gibbons is an accomplished mathematician and professor, currently serving as a 2022-2023 AAAS Congressional Science & Engineering Fellow in the United States Senate. With a strong educational background, including a Ph.D. in Commutative Algebra from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, an M.S. in Mathematics from the same institution, and a B.A. in Mathematics from Colorado College, Gibbons possesses a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and their applications.

Having held various teaching positions throughout their career, Gibbons has demonstrated a passion for sharing their knowledge with others. They have served as an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Hamilton College and also taught mathematics as an Adjunct Professor at Herkimer County Community College's Prison Program. Additionally, Gibbons has mentored students as a Visiting REU Mentor at Willamette University. Their commitment to teaching extended to their time as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and also as a Paraprofessional at Colorado College.
