Corey Monroe

Corey Monroe is a dedicated community activist based in San Francisco, whose work focuses on advocacy for children, teens, and families. A graduate of McAteer High School, Corey attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia, where he studied Sociology for two years. He is a long-time member of the Omega Boys Club/Alive&Free, an organization dedicated to reducing violence and saving lives locally and internationally. Corey works with incarcerated youth to teach them how to avoid the risk factors that lead to violence and drug abuse. He also provides counseling and support to special needs children and teens, acting as a liaison between children and their incarcerated parents, providing job training, motivation, family support, and parenting skills training. He completed the Leadership San Francisco business and leadership training, as well as the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department’s Restorative Justice Training. Corey is a member of Acts Full Gospel Church in Oakland and works tirelessly to support young people, rehabilitate previously incarcerated youth and adults, and save families.
