Corey Ballou

Corey Ballou is a seasoned developer with over two decades of experience in custom building websites and applications. He has worked at leading design and development agencies in Charlotte and has also been involved in building and launching startups for notable companies. Corey's most significant project was with .CO Internet, where he led the development team through a successful Super Bowl ad launch, culminating in a $109M acquisition by Neustar in 2014.

Since 2012, Corey has been operating his web development consultancy, collaborating with successful startups to develop their custom web applications. Currently, he is dedicated to Ternio, focusing on creating and expanding two main products: BlockCard, a unique crypto-backed credit card in the U.S., and Lexicon, a scalable blockchain architecture built on Hyperledger Fabric.

With a keen interest in blockchain and cryptocurrency, Corey's journey began in 2014 upon learning about Stellar, supported by his favorite online payment processor, Stripe. He recognized the potential of Stellar in revolutionizing online transactions with quicker settlement times and lower processing fees. In 2017, Corey started developing custom applications in the crypto/blockchain space, winning a Stellar Build Challenge prize in early 2018 for his open-source project, Lumenous.org (https://github.com/lumenousorg/lumenous).
