Launchpad is a physical space on campus developed in partnership with Blackstone, the purpose of which is to promote and support student entrepreneurship. My role on the Stewardship Council is to advise the Trinity Launchpad team on how best to grow awareness of the space and create maximum value for students.

Organise meetings with our corporate mentors, take minutes and support the growth of social entrepreneurship in Trinity College. Founded the Enactus Inspires speaker series and have arranged speakers such as Chris MM Gordon, Daniel Ramamoorthy and James Whelton. Advise our project teams and grow the brand of Enactus on Trinity campus. We have done this through more prominent positioning of our stand during Freshers Week as well as regular appearances promoting the society in person across campus. I have found a great satisfaction in working with our projects which have huge impacts with people experiencing homelessness, underemployed women in Malawi and shortly, primary school children in Liberia.

Worked at the checkout in an extremely busy environment where queues can exceed 30 mins with all checkouts open. Required strong communication skills and empathy working with customers who were understandably unhappy at times. One particular customer wrote a note to my manager for my care and attention to her needs as she had two young children with her. Had to learn fast because I had never before worked in a retail environment.

In October 2015 I was walking down Grafton Street with my friend and we spotted a guy whizzing past on a "hoverboard". We were blown away by this machine and looked into it further, realising pretty quickly that these products were a craze in America. We found a reliable supplier through a Scottish retailer of hoverboards, set up a website and registered a company all within a month of starting off. We created a marketing campaign with a viral video to go alongside. We sold out of our initial stock within a week and ordered more which was sold out by the start of December. We were delighted with progress and delighted to turn over such a large sum in such a short period of time. However, we were unfortunate that within days of delivering our final boards to our many customers we found out from Stripe that a limited number of our sales had been targeted by a global trend of credit card fraud. It was painful to take having worked so hard but I came out of the experience looking back positively at the company we had created. The experiences of sales, marketing, operations, finance; even the experiences of firefighting after that first devastating email from Stripe will always stick with me and benefit me far more than not having tried to set up this business.

Actively involved since 2014 during which time we increased membership by 347% from 330 to 1476 members by increasing society awareness through extensive online marketing, enabling students to sign up on their own devices and providing the best membership goodie bags on campus (including free Dropbox space, free UBER & Hailo vouchers, Qualtrics tshirts and UBER tshirts). Operated the TES Incubator, TES Talks and cofounder of the TES Startup Fair bringing in speakers including Feargal Quinn, Paddy Cosgrave, Mark Little, John O’Farrell and Ray Nolan. Wrote the weekly TES newsletter to over 1,800 subscribers with a high open rate averaging over 50%. I gained a great insight into working with a group of motivated and ambitious individuals. Trinity has been named as the top university in Europe for producing entrepreneurs and it is through the work of the like of TES that this has been possible. My work with TES was hugely enjoyable and it is very satisfying to see the society continuing with great success to this day

In charge of running StudyNotes’ Maths Revision Courses, which both sold out. Ran the online marketing and ticketing, designed the email campaigns and collected feedback. Increased unique monthly visitors from 49,902 to 75,730 (146.14%) between January 2016 and January 2017. Managed to achieve this through search engine optimisation by growing the amount of content on our website so that most Google searches from Ireland for online notes will put StudyNotes.ie on the first page. I have developed a huge amount of tech knowledge from this startup experience and it has been great to be involved in a business that is impacting so many people on a daily basis.

The 100Minds initiative was set up with the aim of raising money for children charities. The charities this year were Barnardos and Blossom Ireland. Each student raises €1000 with the goal, this year, of raising €150,000 overall.
I organised a Valentine's Masquerade Ball which raised over €1900. I organised a DJ, venue, photographer, raffle prizes and free entry into a nightclub for the 130 people that came to the event. It was a great night and was amazing to reach my target for such a great cause. 
This year 100Minds raised over €200,000 and it was an honour to be part of such an incredible initiative.

Marketing of the campus.ie Apple for Education deal both on campus, in Trinity, but also through social media. Independence and self-motivation in scheduling my own work hours, setting up stands around campus and handing out leaflets as well as talking to students.

Co-ordinated the "Trinity Through a Lens" photography competition in association with the University Times (UT, Trinity College Newspaper). I ensured that campus.ie was effectively represented on all the photos and managed the social media posting of the photos to build up a lot of hype around the event. The photos received over 50,000 views and a lot of positive publicity for the company.

Ensured efficiency, composure and accuracy especially when under pressure. Trained in new staff, and taught a couple of new managers about my particular role in the business. Changed kegs and participated in keg deliveries. This was the most physically demanding job I've ever had with the pub spread across 4 floors and no lifts to take the food up and down from the kitchen. However, I had brilliant fun! I learnt that a positive work environment is crucial to the success of a business. If you can turn to colleagues for help when the work is challenging then you have successfully integrated your team and people will enjoy their work a lot more.

Successfully returned account into the black from significant debt built up over previous years by carefully managing society spending and working with events team to ensure profitability of our events. I encouraged the Ents team to organise events that would be profitable to ensure the longterm viability of the society. I learnt the importance of good organisation, attention to detail, team communication and working closely on all financial aspects of events from collecting money to deciding on expenditure.

I am the co-founder of StudyNet, a company that won the 2014 national finals of the innovation section in the Microsoft, Imagine Cup. My role has involved creating a business plan, managing the accounts, helping improve the user interface of the website and also preparing the team for the international semi-finals of the Imagine Cup. For my work with StudyNet I was awarded the 2014 Trinity Junior Entrepreneur of the Year award.
