Colin Caprani

Dr. Colin Caprani is a Chartered Structural Engineer with extensive industrial and academic experience focusing on various areas like highway bridge traffic loading, footbridge vibration serviceability, and Intelligent Transportation System - infrastructure interaction.

He has held positions as an Associate Professor in Structural Engineering at Monash University in Australia and as a Lecturer in Structural Engineering at the Technological University Dublin. Dr. Caprani has contributed significantly to the field with over 100 scientific publications and supervising both PhD and MSc students.

His research interests and expertise cover structural safety, bridge engineering, integral bridges, bridge beam development, and large-scale commercial mixed-use developments. Dr. Caprani has also earned recognition through speaking at international conferences and receiving multiple awards for his contributions.

He pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Civil Engineering from University College Dublin and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Structural Engineering with 1st Class Honors from Dublin Institute of Technology. His professional journey includes roles as a design structural engineer, project engineer, bridge design engineer, and lecturer at various renowned institutions.
