Clare Reid

Clare Reid is an accomplished Head of Research and Innovation with a rich background spanning over two decades in consulting, business services, and the built environment sectors.

With a foundation in economics, Clare has excelled as a consultant and in-house researcher, showcasing her expertise in growing and nurturing research teams across different business settings, ranging from PLCs to family-owned enterprises and SMEs.

Her work is characterized by a knack for generating actionable insights through data analysis and compelling storytelling, underpinned by a curiosity-driven approach and a talent for asking the right questions.

Clare's career has been marked by a strong focus on understanding and leveraging future trends, highlighted by her pivotal role in establishing the innovation program at Robertson Group, which attracted significant investment for the organization.

In addition to her professional roles, Clare has actively contributed to various prestigious bodies, including serving on the Court and Estates Committee of the University of Edinburgh, as well as holding positions on the boards of Offsite Solutions Scotland and the Scottish Business Purpose Commission.

Currently, Clare serves as a commissioner on the Scottish Business Purpose Commission and holds the position of Chair at the Edinburgh Bio-Quarter Sustainability Sub-Board, in addition to being a member of the Scottish Parliament Cross-Party Group on Science & Technology.

Within various organizations, Clare has held key leadership positions, including Director and Co-Founder at PivotLab Ltd, Director of Policy & Public Affairs at the Scottish Council for Development and Industry (SCDI), and Director of Research & Innovation at Robertson Group, among others.
