Claartje Rasterhoff

Claartje Rasterhoff is an assistant professor of Cultural Policy and Management at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASoS) at Maastricht University.1 She has been serving as the Director of the Maastricht Centre for Arts and Culture, Conservation and Heritage (MACCH) since September 2022.23

Career History

Prior to her current roles, Rasterhoff has held several positions:

• Project leader of Culture Monitor at Boekmanstichting (Research Institute for arts, culture and policy)
• Assistant professor of Urban History & Digital Methods at the University of Amsterdam
• Worked in departments of Media Studies, History, and Urban Studies at the University of Amsterdam and Utrecht University
• Involved in Cultural Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam

She obtained her PhD in History from Utrecht University in 2012.1

Current Work

At Maastricht University, Rasterhoff is involved in various projects and initiatives:

• Co-founder of the Plant: Playground and Laboratory for New Technologies
• Leading a research project on Heritage Management in Times of Climate Change (2023-2025) in collaboration with FASoS colleague Christian Ernsten and Natuurmonumenten1
