Cim Branch is part of the CIM Sudbury Branch, a vibrant organization closely tied to the local mining industry, boasting a considerable membership, an impressive technical program, and a bustling social calendar.
An annual highlight for the branch is the Rudolph Kneer Memorial Golf Tournament held in early August, serving as both the kickoff event for the year and a key driver for membership. The tournament, running for over 40 years, fosters camaraderie among engineers, mine employees, and suppliers, attracting 72 players annually.
The branch hosts six General Membership Meetings (GMM) throughout the year, featuring outstanding technical programs covering a range of disciplines such as metallurgy and geology. These meetings, held at the Atlas Copco Theatre at Dynamic Earth, often welcome guest speakers from local academic and research institutions, focusing on technological advancements and innovations.
