Chuck Purvis, a former Principal Transportation Planner/Analyst at Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) in Oakland, California, is a highly experienced transportation planning expert with an impressive academic background. Purvis holds a Master of City and Regional Planning degree from Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from California State University. He has an extensive technical background in travel demand forecasting, data analysis, statistical software, and methodology in urban planning.

During his tenure at MTC, Purvis was responsible for travel model development, travel forecasting, and transportation data analyses, including MTC household travel surveys and decennial census data. He has also served as the former chair of the Transportation Research Board Committee on Urban Transportation Data and Information Systems and the TRB Section on Travel Analysis Methods.
