Chuck E.

Chuck Eesley is an Associate Professor and W.M. Keck Foundation Faculty Scholar in the Department of Management Science and Engineering at prestigious Stanford University. His research work focuses on the role of the institutional and university environment in high-growth, technology entrepreneurship. Eesley has published extensively in prestigious journals, including Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, Research Policy, and Biological Psychiatry. Additionally, he is a faculty affiliate at the Stanford Center for International Development and the Woods Institute for the Environment.

Previously, Eesley completed his Ph.D. in high-tech entrepreneurship from Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management. In 2002, he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Cognitive Neuroscience from Duke University, where he started his first company.

Eesley combines academic and entrepreneurial experience, being an angel investor, co-founder, and board member of many high-tech startups while actively contributing to several programs advocating and mentoring under-represented groups in STEM, academia, and the tech sector. His online course, the first entrepreneurship MOOC, has taught over 200,000 students from more than 100 countries. As a result of his diverse background, Eesley's field research spans Chile, Japan, China, Bangladesh, Thailand, and Silicon Valley, receiving awards from multiple foundations and organizations.
