Dr. Christopher Spera is the Division Vice President for Health and Environment at Abt Associates, leading a team of over 250 individuals on more than 90 active projects in research, evaluation, survey research, health communications, and technical assistance.
With a strong background in applied social science research, survey research, and program evaluation, Dr. Spera has made significant contributions to various federal agencies and organizations before his tenure at Abt Associates.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Spera held key positions at the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) and ICF International, where he directed groundbreaking studies and research practices.
In addition to his role at Abt Associates, Dr. Spera continues to educate as a professor of public policy and management at Carnegie Mellon University's Heinz School of Public Policy, specializing in teaching program evaluation.
With a Ph.D. in Human Development and Quantitative Methodology from the University of Maryland, Dr. Spera has authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications and technical reports, focusing on advancing evidence-based practices in public health and developmental psychology.
