Christopher Martin

Professor and Director, Global Engagement Office, Health Sciences Center, West Virginia University

Dr. Christopher Martin is a renowned educator, scholar, and clinician with a wealth of experience in the field of Occupational Medicine and Public Health. He is the founding director of the Global Engagement Office at West Virginia University, where he oversees international partnerships for various schools within the Health Sciences Center. Dr. Martin holds key roles including co-directing the MD course, Public Health, and serving as Program Director and Designated Institutional Official for the Occupational Medicine residency.

With a strong research background, Dr. Martin is the Principal Investigator of notable Training Project Grant from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and a Preventive Medicine Residency Training Program Grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration. He has contributed significantly to the establishment of the first Public Health - General Preventive Medicine residency in Appalachia.
