Christopher Marte, a dedicated community activist and longtime resident of District 1, is focused on making a positive impact in Lower Manhattan as a City Council member.
With a strong background in various areas including housing, education, job creation, criminal justice, immigration policy, and disaster preparedness, Marte is well-prepared to advocate for the residents of Lower Manhattan and enhance their quality of life.
Marte pursued his education in International politics and finance at Global College-Long Island University, International Economics and Finance at London School of Economics, and at Zhejiang University International College in Hangzhou, Zhejiang.
Throughout his career, Marte has been actively involved in several organizations and roles including serving as the Former State Committeeman for the 65th Assembly District, the former New York Director and Associate at Arena, a Candidate for City Council with Marte for NYC, a Legal Researcher at Roach & Bishop LLC, an Equity Trader & Fixed Income Investment Analyst at IBM, a Financial Analyst at CastleOak Securities, L.P., and an Intern at King's County District Attorney.
