Chris Harbourt

Christopher Mark Harbourt is the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and Head of Carbon/Sustainability Programs at Indigo Ag, a company focused on sustainable agricultural practices. With over 25 years of experience at the intersection of science, agriculture, engineering, and business, he plays a pivotal role in leveraging science and digital technology to enhance the sustainability efforts of farmers while creating new profitability opportunities for them.12

Education and Career Background

Harbourt holds a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Science in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Biological/Biosystems Engineering from Virginia Tech. He has also served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois, contributing to the education of future leaders in agricultural engineering and digital agriculture.2

Before his current role at Indigo, Harbourt held various leadership positions, including Vice President of Carbon Supply and Global Head of Carbon at Indigo.
