Christopher Devonshire-Ellis is the Founding Partner and Chairman of Dezan Shira & Associates, a prominent international tax law practice specializing in advising clients on incorporation, tax laws, and operations in Asia, with a strong focus on attracting foreign investment to the region.
He is also the founder of Asia Briefing Publications, which produces websites, magazines, and books covering various regions including China, India, ASEAN, Russia, and the Belt & Road Initiative, reaching millions of readers annually.
Chris is a respected Visiting Professor at the Higher School of Economics in Russia, where he lectures on the Belt & Road Initiative and has authored 20 influential books on Chinese and Asian business.
In addition to his professional pursuits, he served on the board of the UNDP's 'Greater Tumen Initiative' and is a Life Member of the Scott Polar Research Institute at the University of Cambridge.
On a personal note, Chris has financed various cultural projects, including a Silk Road-inspired fashion collection and music albums, demonstrating his diverse interests beyond business and law.
He is multilingual, fluent in English and Mandarin, with ongoing efforts to learn Russian. Currently residing in Sri Lanka, he is actively engaged in writing a new book on the Belt & Road Initiative and compiling a collection of Sri Lankan short stories.
