Christopher DeJong, Engineering Manager at Google
Christopher DeJong is an Engineering Manager at Google, where he works in warehouse scale computing, helping to run some of the largest datacenters in the world.1 He is a technical lead/manager at Google, overseeing teams that work to keep all of Google's computers running efficiently.1
DeJong grew up playing with computer punch cards and was a computer hobbyist with a strong interest in the humanities while at Calvin College, where he majored in history.1 After working in computer software design in the Chicago area, he moved to San Francisco in 2010 and began working for Google in cluster management.1
Despite his technical career, DeJong credits his liberal arts education at Calvin for introducing him "to a much bigger space, intellectually".1 He still performs and teaches improv with the Leela Theater Company in San Francisco.1
