Christopher E Carter

Christopher E. Carter is the Director of Schools at Seattle Public Schools, specifically overseeing the Southwest region. With over 25 years of experience in education, he began his career as an elementary teacher in Long Beach, California, before returning to Seattle. He joined Seattle Public Schools in 1997, where he has held various roles including teacher, house administrator, and principal. Notably, he received the Thomas B. Foster Principal of the Year award in 2018 for his leadership in achieving equity-driven outcomes for students.12

In his current role as Director of Schools, Mr. Carter focuses on providing leadership and support to schools within the southeast, southwest, and central regions of Seattle.
