As an expert for Business Software and Platform Economy at VDMA, the largest network organization of the mechanical engineering industry in Germany and Europe, he has developed a measurable process for successful collaboration between startups and established companies, as well as identifying opportunities for innovation in the market. He is an accomplished investor and has worked for various venture capital funds.

Mr. Herr's experience spans across a range of startup ventures, having been involved in six startups, one of which was previously included in the ranking "AlwaysOn Global 250" by Stanford / USA in 2009. Among his notable achievements, he developed Spotfolio, the first platform for startup and technology scouting in Germany in 2013. He also supported the development of the Digital Business division at the KION Group AG, providing input from the perspective of a startup scout or digital architect. In addition to being appointed to the thought leader initiative of Handelsblatt and The Boston Consulting Group, he has also served on advisory boards, including at Förderkreis Gründungs-Forschung e.V. (FGF) and co-founded and served on the board of Platform for Innovation in Germany (PFID).

Mr. Herr's academic background includes studying Diplom-Verwaltungswirt at Fachhochschule des Bundes, where he later went on to lecture in Computer Science at TECHNISCHE HOCHSCHULE KOLN, maintaining relevance in the topics of software and innovation.
