Christine Surlien

Christine Surlien is a China travel expert, author, and diplomatic nomad wife and mother of two. She has an extensive educational background, having studied subjects such as political science, Chinese studies, and East Asian studies at the University of Oslo, and earning a Certificate in Advanced Chinese Language from the People's University of China as well as a Master of International and Public Affairs from the University of Hong Kong.

Surlien has held various positions throughout her career, including Contract Manager at Urban Infrastructure Partner AS and Accountant at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Beijing. She has also worked as a freelance writer, tour guide, consultant, and blogger at ChinaScratched, as well as a General Manager, Accountant, and HR manager at Surlien Flakk Family Company, and a Senior Travel Consultant at KinaReiser AS. Additionally, she has served as a Research assistant and Consultant at the Norwegian Center for Human Rights.

Surlien is the author of the book "China in Your Hands" and has a passion for sharing her knowledge of China's history, culture, and attractions with others. She is knowledgeable about Chinese language and has used it in her work as a tour guide and consultant.
