Christine Gregg

Christine Gregg is an aerospace engineer and researcher at NASA Ames Research Center, specializing in advanced manufacturing, autonomous systems, and digital materials. She holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, where she was recognized as a NASA Space Technology Research Fellow. Her doctoral research focused on digital lattice structures and lattice fracture mechanics.

At NASA, Christine Gregg is involved in the ARMADAS project (Automated Reconfigurable Mission Adaptive Digital Assembly Systems), which aims to demonstrate a programmable matter approach for autonomous robotic assembly of structures both in orbit and on planetary surfaces. Her work encompasses various fields, including fiber composite materials, vibrational energy harvesting, and robotics.123

She is part of the Intelligent Systems Division at NASA Ames, where her research contributes to the development of infrastructure necessary for sustained human presence in space, addressing challenges such as reusability and adaptability in extreme environments.12
