Established Lucerent as the first legally registered contract research organization (CRO) in Cambodia providing clinical project management services to the US government, international public health NGOs and local hospitals, consistent with ICH GCP regulatory requirements.

Since 2013, as Head of Global Program Management, have successfully renewed all government contracts, managing 5 surveillance studies, enrolling over 10,000 patients. 
Since 2016, in collaboration with US Naval Medical Research Center (NMRC), have provided project management and microbiology laboratory services for the Austere Environments Consortium for Enhanced Sepsis Outcomes (ACESO), an observational trial of sepsis at Takeo Provincial Hospital in Cambodia. Responsibilities include: daily supervision of all staff assigned, ensuring all samples acquired from clinical studies are properly processed, tracked and transported to Central Laboratory. Second manuscript of study results were published in August 2020 (see journal link below).

Successfully executed cervical cancer observational study with local hospital enrolling 1,000 Cambodian women to estimate the prevalence and factors associated with cervical abnormalities. Responsibilities included hiring and oversight of database developer and remote collaboration with epidemiologist, biostatistician, data manager and clinical research associate. 

Led international team members (surgeons and public health specialists) from Malaysia, Cambodia and UK to conduct the first retrospective observational breast cancer study in Cambodia with newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. Study characterized the presentation, diagnosis, treatment and outcomes and was published in regional journal.

This role involved working with two large-scale operational research malaria programs encompassing 7 provinces within Cambodia. As a Programme Development Advisor, I worked closely with Khmer national staff to: (1) increase technical capacity of local project managers in project planning, budget forecasting and management, ensure donor compliance and reporting; (2) review and monitor implementation of all field team work plans conducted for health facilities at central and provincial levels; (3) review policies and procedures used by project teams, updating and training staff in these policies; and (4) support Human Resources Director in recruitment, evaluation and development of national staff. 

As a consensus-builder, I actively collaborated and strengthened partnerships with national malaria stakeholders and international donor agencies to set project targets and make recommendations on actions to accelerate implementation.

Joyfully Nutty (www.joyfullynutty.com) was founded in 2017 with the aim of supporting Cambodian cashew farmers and their families. With an initial product launch of cashew nut butters at local food fairs, today Joyfully Nutty cashew nut butters can be found on the shelves of premium supermarkets and popular cafes. The business was successfully sold in January 2020 and continues to expand under new management.

•Review and make recommendations to determine the appropriate ownership, governance and management structures necessary to transition from a ‘start up’ enterprise to a well-managed thriving school. 
•Establish roles and responsibilities of the Board, Senior Management Team (SMT), Business Owner and other supporting functional roles. Recruit and hire Director of Operations; 
•Identify current practice regarding functional roles and make recommendations to improve these by creating new job descriptions and refining existing ones;
Organizational Systems:
•Evaluate current HR and financial systems; provide a risk assessment and make recommendations to ensure school is adhering to local regulations and operating with organizational efficiencies; 
•Support the SMT in implementing recommendations from the risk assessment, including: financial and operational policies to support day-to-day operations and strategic budget decisions;
•Review current budget practices and provide recommendations for supporting the business model. 
.Working in liaison with the management team, formulated and implemented structures and procedures that align with the mission, strategy and culture of the school, supporting its growth from a ‘start up’ enterprise to a well-managed, thriving school. After presenting final recommendations, implemented solutions presented.
