Chris Vargas

Chris Vargas is the founder of Emerging Cities Investments, a private equity firm established in 2017 that focuses on multifamily real estate investments. He is also known for his roles as a private investor and technology entrepreneur, currently residing in Los Altos Hills, California.

Vargas began his career with the U.S. Government, where he worked on secure networks as part of the DARPANET initiative. He has held various senior positions in technology companies, including Cisco Systems, where he was involved in international marketing and business development, and served as CEO of Proficient Networks and F-Secure Inc. He has also been a founder and CEO of multiple startups, including Aquacue and Plannit.

In addition to his work in real estate, Vargas is an angel investor focusing on early-stage startups and cryptocurrencies. He founded ReWorld in 2021, a climate startup aimed at enhancing the impact of successful climate and conservation organizations. His educational background includes a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. Vargas is also a Fulbright scholar and is actively involved in community and nonprofit initiatives.12
