Summer Associate

Led new initiatives and represented the agency with elected officials, advocacy groups, and the media. Coordinated communication between the Commissioner, the Department and the Mayor’s Office. Helped acquire over 400 acres of new parkland, protect and raise millions of dollars in capital funding, and extinguish the short term fires ignited by politics, press calls and the daily work of a large agency.

Served as a teacher’s assistant in a Cape Verdean E.S.L. kindergarten classroom at the Mason Elementary School.  Part of a team that took to scale in Boston Young Heroes, which became a national Saturday service program for eighth graders.
