Chris Meyers is the Executive Vice President & CEO of the Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives (OAEC), a position he has held since February 2010.3 With over 40 years of experience in the electric utility industry, Meyers has a broad background that includes distribution system engineering, key account sales and marketing, distribution operations, corporate shared services, and legislative/government relations.3
Meyers holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Kansas State University and an MBA from the University of Oklahoma.31 He is also a registered professional engineer in the state of Oklahoma.1
In his role at OAEC, Meyers is responsible for providing various services to Oklahoma's 28 Distribution Cooperatives and 2 Generation/Transmission Companies, including state and federal legislative tracking and lobbying, safety and loss control programs, self-insured workers' compensation group pool, economic development and marketing programs, and publication of Oklahoma Living Magazine.3
Prior to joining OAEC, Meyers worked at OGE Energy Corp in various roles, including State Government Affairs, Director of Shared Services, and Leader of Daily Operations.3
It's worth noting that Meyers recently announced his retirement, which is scheduled for March 31, 2025.12 His successor, Nicki Fuller, will begin her tenure as the new general manager on April 1, 2025.2
