Chris Marks

Chris Marks is the Managing Director at Firebrand Ventures, a position he has held since January 2020.1 He is an experienced venture capitalist with over 15 years of investing in early-stage technology companies and working with entrepreneurs.2

Prior to joining Firebrand, Marks founded and served as Managing Partner of Blue Note Ventures, an early-stage venture fund investing in technology companies.12 He was also a partner at Tango, a private investment company in Boulder, Colorado, and at High Country Venture, where he managed venture capital funds investing in early-stage Colorado companies.2

Marks has a background in law, having practiced corporate law at Hogan & Hartson in Denver, where he represented private equity firms and early-stage companies raising capital.2 He holds a JD from the University of Colorado and attended Colorado College for his undergraduate studies.1

Based in Boulder, Colorado, Marks is described as an avid fly fisherman and aspiring garage band guitarist.2 He lives with his family in Niwot, Colorado, where they enjoy views of the Flatiron Mountains and Long's Peak.2
