Chris Kiew-Smith is an accomplished regulatory and compliance expert, specializing in the ever-changing landscape of securities & derivatives, payments, FinTech, and crypto-assets. With a comprehensive background in law, strategy and regulatory affairs, Chris provides effective solutions to navigate complex challenges in regulatory compliance.

Chris began his academic journey studying at the University of Durham, before embarking on a career in law. His work has seen him with roles at some of finance's most prestigious firms including Clifford Chance LLP, Citi, and Morgan Stanley. He then moved on to become a Senior Associate at the Financial Conduct Authority where he was responsible for developing regulatory policies and implementing regulations to minimize legal risk.

After his stint at the Financial Conduct Authority, Chris progressed to focus on the regulatory affairs of the FinTech industry as Section Head at Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) before moving to Compliance at Standard Chartered Bank. Chris is currently the Chief Compliance Officer at Zodia by Standard Chartered, where he provides sound strategies in navigating the regulatory environment.
