Decarbonisation / Net Zero Consultant
Chris Joyce is a Chartered Energy Manager, ESOS Lead Assessor, and Member of the Energy Institute, currently working as a Senior Consultant in Turner & Townsend's Sustainability team in Bristol.
His expertise lies in supporting the decarbonisation of private and public sector organizations through energy efficiency & renewable projects, with a focus on schemes like the Mayor of London's Retrofit Accelerator Workplaces programme. Chris has over 190 site visits experience in identifying, developing, and implementing energy and carbon reduction opportunities across sectors like healthcare, industry, and education.
Having worked with renowned organizations like the Carbon Trust and the Welsh Government, Chris has made significant contributions to projects such as the NHS Wales Strategic Decarbonisation Delivery Plan, Welsh Government's low carbon heat pilot, and securing over £1M investment into decarbonisation projects in the UK.
He has also excelled in ESOS compliance, energy saving opportunities assessments, ISO50001 implementation, and the development of technical training courses. Chris holds the Energy Institute's Level 3 Advanced Energy Management qualification and Level 5 Professional Consulting with the Chartered Management Institute.
Apart from his professional endeavors, Chris also leads school groups on expeditions worldwide as an Expedition Leader for World Challenge, with experiences in the Indian Himalayas and Madagascar.
Educationally, Chris attended the University of Plymouth for a BSc in Geography, Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences, achieving a 2:1, and completed Level 5 in Professional Consulting at the Chartered Management Institute.
