Chris Jenkins, a Culpeper native, has an extensive law enforcement career that led him to become the Police Chief of the Culpeper Police Department in June 2010. Starting as a dispatcher with the department in 1977 at the age of 18, he later became a certified police officer in 1979. Jenkins holds degrees from the University of Richmond and Virginia Tech, as well as being a graduate of the FBI National Academy's 218th Session in 2004. He has been instrumental in leading the Culpeper Police Department to international accreditation through CALEA since 2005, with multiple re-accreditations to his credit.
