Chris Hughes is a seasoned professional with nearly 20 years of experience in Cybersecurity and IT.

Currently, he holds the position of President & Co-Founder at Aquia, a cybersecurity consulting firm that specializes in secure digital transformations.

In addition to his role at Aquia, Chris serves as a Cyber Innovation Fellow (CIF) at the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).

An avid contributor to the field, Chris is an Author, hosting the Resilient Cyber Substack and Podcast, and has written on Software Transparency and Effective Vulnerability Management.

He is a well-known public speaker, panelist, and industry commentator, focusing on topics like AppSec, Vulnerability Management, Software Supply Chain Security, and DevSecOps.

Over the course of his career, Chris has worked in various roles such as CISO, Architecture, Engineering, Governance Risk and Compliance.

Chris Hughes pursued his education in Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)/Cybersecurity at Carnegie Mellon University, M.S. in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance at Dakota State University, and an MBA in Management Information Systems at Strayer University, among other qualifications.

Throughout his career, Chris has been associated with various organizations, including roles at IANS, Astrix Security, RAD Security, Endor Labs, TestifySec, UMUC, Resurface Labs, Accurics, ByteChek, Oteemo Inc., GSA, Capitol Technology University, Kinect Consulting, SPAWAR, ISC Consulting Group, and PROSOFT, covering a wide range of cybersecurity-related positions.
