Chris Gueymard is a well-established expert in solar energy, solar radiation, radiometry, and atmospheric physics with a rich background in research and publications.

With over 200 scientific publications and numerous collaborations with esteemed institutions such as NREL, NCAR, and CNRS-PROMES, Chris has significantly contributed to advancing solar energy applications worldwide.

Since 2007, Chris has served as the Associate Editor for the renowned scientific journal Solar Energy (Elsevier) showcasing his leadership and expertise in the field.

Chris is the mastermind behind various solar radiative transfer models, including the widely used SMARTS model, which has become an industry standard relied upon by thousands of scientists globally.

His contributions extend to developing reference solar irradiance spectra standardized by ASTM and IEC, essential for the solar PV/CPV industry's performance evaluations and material-testing industry for UV-related material degradation.

His educational background includes M.Sc. degrees in Environmental Engineering and Applied Ecology, a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Solar Energy Engineering from prestigious institutions in Switzerland, France, and Canada.
