I was the product owner of a number of products that support The Orchard's master recording rights management business. This business unit is responsible for the collection of public performance and broadcast royalties from YouTube, Facebook, SoundCloud, and over 50 collective rights management organizations around the world.

I also ensured that The Orchard's proprietary delivery system was always serving our clients and internal teams, tightly integrated with partners, and adaptable to ever-changing business needs.

Beyond these principal responsibilities, I also worked on improving tools that programmatically claim videos uploaded to the many thousands of channels The Orchard has partnered on YouTube.

Associate Product Manager

Still without a dedicated designer on my team, I moved on from Balsamiq wireframes and Sketch mockups and began to create my own prototypes in InVision. My increased responsibility for product design expanded the already wide scope of my role, which included setting the roadmap, creating wireframes, and performing QA/UAT.

Key product launches during this period include the development of our referral and marketing reward programs, as well as the integration of an automated payment processing system which replaced our arduous, manual insertion order process. The prior process required extensive email communication between our sales team, finance team, and clients.

Bandsintown Group

With my product management projects increasing in scope and importance, we hired an email campaign manager to take over my email marketing duties. The VP of Product Monetization discontinued setting the product roadmap for our Bandsintown Promoter product and I took over, continuing to work with the engineering team as I had been previously.

Beyond the usual incremental development, key product launches during this period included included integrations with Salesforce and Intercom to automate product, sales, marketing, and support CRM tasks via email and in-app messaging.

My dual roles during this period began with working on product management tasks 25% of the time and implementing email marketing campaigns 75% the time. My responsibilities on the marketing side included coding emails in HTML & CSS for nearly 100 unique emails per month, as well as graphic design and account management.

My responsibilities on the product side included creating wireframes, prototypes and other various product specifications, then communicating that information to our VP of Product Monetization before working with engineers to execute the plans. I also performed quality assurance on new software before and after new releases.

I worked with the program director and musical arranger to design sounds, cut up samples, and programmed them into a MIDI controller that triggered Ableton Live. I then spent time teaching the ensemble how to play these sounds during the performance.
