Chris Cowcher

Chris Cowcher is a dedicated professional with a strong passion for enhancing and sustaining rural communities. He focuses on preserving essential services, such as shops, post offices, pubs, schools, doctor's surgeries, and village halls, by leveraging local skills, labor, and produce. Currently, Chris holds the position of Head of Community Business at the Plunkett Foundation, where he actively promotes and supports the development of community businesses to empower local communities for positive change. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Photojournalism from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David and a Foundation degree in Art from the University of Gloucestershire. Chris has a wealth of experience with various organizations, having served as a Director at RURAL ENGLAND C.I.C., Community Manager at ACRE (Action with Communities in Rural England), Village SOS Community Manager at ACRE, Community Engagement Officer at South Gloucestershire Council, Community and Social Enterprise Advisor at Gloucestershire Rural Community Council, and as a Bar Manager and Licensee at Halfway House Public House.
