Senior Developer for Storytelling at USA TODAY NETWORK
Chris Amico is a seasoned journalist and programmer currently serving as a Senior Developer for the Storytelling Studio at the USA TODAY NETWORK, a position he held from April 2018 until March 2023. In this role, he focused on creating storytelling tools and bespoke digital experiences for a vast network of newspapers across the United States. His contributions included developing a storytelling framework that enabled web producers and designers to present over 7,000 stories without requiring developer intervention, as well as creating standalone tools for data exploration by readers and designing open-source tools for storytelling with maps.135

His earlier roles include working as an Interactive Editor at PBS NewsHour and an Application Developer at NPR, where he was part of a team that won a duPont-Columbia Award for their investigative work.16
