Chris Allen

Chris Allen is an experienced animation professional who currently serves as the Company Director and Creative Director at King Banana TV, a children's television production company.14 He joined King Banana in 2022 and has been working on developing new ideas for children's content.1

Prior to his current role, Chris was the Animation Director for the hit CBeebies show "Yakka Dee!" from series 1 to 7.13 His responsibilities included:

• Remotely directing the animation team at Mighty Animation in Mexico
• Developing the main character Dee and designing her friends
• Creating storyboards and animatics for all 146 episodes
• Ensuring accurate lip-sync and mouth shapes to aid children's speech development

Chris has over 10 years of experience in children's TV, developing shows from pitch to screen.1 His work on "Yakka Dee!" has been successful, with the show regularly airing on TV and amassing over 1 million subscribers on YouTube as of January 2024.1

Recently, Chris has been involved in King Banana's first fully animated co-production, "Nikhil & Jay," which launched on CBeebies in October 2023. He was responsible for the original design and characters of this show.2

Chris's background includes:

• BA (HONS) in Animation Production from The Arts Institute of Bournemouth (2006-2009)
• Experience as a Freelance Animator/Director, working for CBBC and CBeebies
• Previous roles at bliink as Lead Animator and other animation-related positions1
