Florida State Representative-District 💯
Chip LaMarca is an American politician and Republican member of the Florida Legislature representing the state's 100th House District, which includes part of Broward County.1 He is a lifelong resident of Broward County.234 LaMarca is known as a citizens’ advocate and a voice for taxpayers, veterans, first responders, and pets in his community.34
LaMarca was born in Winchester, Massachusetts, in 1968 and moved to Florida in 1971.16 He attended Boston University, Broward College, and Florida Atlantic University.37 Following in his father's footsteps, LaMarca entered the construction industry, eventually founding LaMarca Construction in 2006, specializing in power generation.13 He and his wife, Eileen, live in Lighthouse Point with their dog, Rocco.3
Public Service Career::
- Lighthouse Point City Commission: LaMarca's public service began in 2002 on Lighthouse Point advisory boards. In 2005, he was elected to the Lighthouse Point City Commission, serving two terms and acting as Commission Vice-President and Commission President/Vice Mayor.35
- Broward County Commission: In 2010, LaMarca unseated the Broward County Mayor to serve as a member of the Board of County Commissioners.13 He was re-elected in 2014.13 LaMarca was the sole Republican on the commission for eight years.1
- Florida House of Representatives: LaMarca was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2018, representing District 93.1 He won the election with 52.78% of the vote.1 He is currently serving in the Florida State House of Representatives.24 LaMarca won re-election in 2020 with 55.24% of the vote and in 2022 with 57.13% of the vote.1
