Chip Chambers, MD

Dr. Chip Chambers, MD, is a distinguished senior physician executive and clinical/academic surgeon with over 22 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare.

His previous roles include serving as Tennessee Senior Medical Director and National Medical Director of Medical Policy & Innovation at Cigna Medicare, where he played a pivotal role in various aspects of the health plan.

Dr. Chambers now holds the position of Market Medical Executive in the MidAmerica Market at Cigna Commercial, collaborating with the Market President and the entire team on commercial business operations.

Apart from his executive roles, he has an academic background as Assistant Professor of Surgery and Chief of Endocrine Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he continues to hold a clinical faculty appointment.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Dr. Chambers is the Founder and President of the DADA2 Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to rare diseases. He is a relentless advocate for rare disease patients and has co-authored multiple scientific papers on DADA2.

His educational background includes a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the University of Mississippi, postgraduate training at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Chemistry from Millsaps College.

Dr. Chambers is also actively involved in various organizations, including his roles at Cigna, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, The Surgical Clinic, and academic institutions like Belhaven University. He was even appointed to the Rare Disease Advisory Council by the Governor of Tennessee.
