Chicko Sousa

Chicko Sousa is a Mechanical Engineer with extensive international experience in countries such as Sweden, Germany, Spain, Austria, the United States, and others, focusing on developing recycling processes for the automotive market.

During his tenure at Volvo do Brasil and the head office in Skoved, Sweden, he specialized in Powertrain and later transitioned to the sustainability market, particularly Waste Management and the innovation of new Recycling processes.

Sousa has a strong background in materials and has successfully created multiple waste recycling processes with over 40 different applications. He has also developed more than 100 formulations of composite polymers approved for various industries such as automotive, logistics, civil construction, food, paper, and packaging.

In 2011, Chicko Sousa founded Greening Sustainable Solutions, a company dedicated to pioneering sustainable and innovative projects. He has been instrumental in implementing Circular Economy practices and developing groundbreaking products at an industrial scale.

Additionally, in 2015, Sousa co-founded the OCAH project, a multimedia platform for Environmental Education applied in municipalities, resulting in impactful initiatives like #spcidadegentil and #cidadesustentavel projects.

His entrepreneurial spirit led him to start the SaaS platform, PlataformaVerde, in 2014, incorporating Blockchain as a Service concept. By 2018, the platform expanded its operations internationally, earning Chicko recognition as a 2018 Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum.

Apart from his professional endeavors, Chicko Sousa is also a loving parent, spending his evenings and weekends as a dedicated companion to his six-year-old daughter.

Chicko Sousa's educational background includes studies at prestigious institutions like the Massachusetts Institute Of Technology, Universidade Positivo, Federal University Of Technology - Parana, Centro Universitário Positivo, and Centro Federal De Educação Tecnológica Do Paraná.
