Cheryl V. Mitchell served as the Director of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee until her passing on May 13, 2021. Under her leadership, the SBDC provided essential support to local entrepreneurs and small businesses through consulting, education, and access to resources aimed at fostering business growth and development.12
Before becoming the center director, Cheryl had a significant impact as a business consultant within the SBDC, where she was recognized for her expertise in helping businesses optimize operations and develop effective strategies.4 In 2021, she was honored posthumously as the Wisconsin SBDC Network's State Star, a testament to her contributions and dedication to supporting small businesses in the region.3
